Microsoft announces Windows Live SkyDrive – Beta

Just before Google would release its version of GDrive client, Microsoft has launched the public beta of of its online storage solution called Windows Live SkyDrive – Beta
Following are some of its features:
- An upgraded look and feel — new graphics to go along with your new features!
- “Also on SkyDrive” — easily get back to the SkyDrives you’ve recently visited
- Thumbnail images — we heard you loud and clear, and now you can see thumbnails of your image files
- Drag and drop your files — sick of our five-at-a-time upload limit? Drag and drop your files right onto your SkyDrive
- Embed your stuff anywhere — with just a few clicks, post your files and folders anywhere you can post html
SkyDrive, provides 500 MB of storage. Files can be private, public, or shared. You can manage it as your personal harddrive on the Internet.
Directory Security:
Private:
By default, the directories are completely protected from the public. Only you can manage your directories.
Public:
Create or choose specific folders to share with public or specific people on your Windows Live Contacts list.
Shared:
You can set specific permissions for those viewing your folders as well – such as someone who can contribute (add and remove files) or someone who only allowed to view the directory contents.
